The initiative Cacophony! has pedagogy at its heart. Driven by a passion for practical explorations within the field of historical performance practices, Tim Braithwaite offers a comprehensive education in number of skills documented in historical vocal sources including the following:

• Historical methods of improvisation, including ornamentation and counterpoint 'alla mente.'​

• Historical approaches to solmisation, including fluency in the Guidonian Hand and other historical pedagogical tools.

• Historical approaches to singing techniques.

• The reading and performance from historical forms of notation.
